2024 CELEBRATION OF MOTORSPORT

About the Event

The Celebration of Motorsport consists of four individual display events that cater to different types and style of vehicle. It takes place on Langley Park and the rivers edge and forms part of the annual four-day Tarmac West event which runs across the Perth Metro area and finishes up on Riverside Drive on Sunday 15th September 2024.

ENTRIES CLOSE 7th September 2024

Shannons Classics on The Swan is a display event held on Riverside Drive beside the beautiful Swan River, for clubs or individuals who appreciate classic cars, motor bikes or trucks and other vehicles of interest.

There will be a large, diverse display of classic vehicles…and best of all, these events are FREE event for exhibitors to display at and for spectators to watch,  with the exciting Tarmac Events providing plenty of action in the background on Riverside Drive.

Classics on the Swan is free for individual exhibitors and spectators to attend. The Rivers edge between Riverside Drive and the Swan River is the perfect backdrop to enjoy the event.

Vehicles that are registered for this event, will not be able to be moved or driven between 10am and 3pm. 

Dash passes will be emailed to participants and must be displayed on the vehicle as proof of registration. 

Vehicles without a dash pass, will be redirected to the Modified Street Cars Come & Go area – $10.00 fee (cash only).

Illegal parking fines apply in this area – State Car Park Legislation.

Any shade structures must be weighted, and size must not exceed 20m2 – (eg 3×3 is 9m2 & 6×3 is 18m2).

The arrival time for individual exhibitors is between 7.30am and 9.30am on the day of the event and the departure time is after 3.00pm.

We don’t reserve a bay for you, it’s first in best dressed, so if you wish to park with a friend, meet with them before arriving and come in together.

Join us for a Celebration of all forms of Motorsport, including racing, rallying, off-roading, motocross, drifting, x-trial, motorcycles, and vintage & modern cars. The largest, most diverse, and most exciting FREE motorsport display in Perth.

Celebration of Motorsport is free for individual exhibitors and spectators to attend.

Vehicles that are registered for this event, will not be able to be moved or driven between 10am and 3pm.

The Celebration of Street Machines (1949 – 1990) & Hot Rods (1928 – 1948) is a display event to showcase non-standard, high-performance modifications, e.g. bodywork, interior, wheels, engine & exhaust.

Celebration of Motorsport is free for individual exhibitors and spectators to attend.

This event is for high-level show vehicles that can be driven on the street.

Vehicles that are registered for this event, will be selected to drive on a small circuit in Langley Park, in one of the many “mini cruises” that are held during the day. 

At midday a longer City Cruise leaves Langley Park and goes via Riverside Drive; Barrack Street; Wellington Street; William Street; St Georges Terrace; Adelaide Terrace; down Victora Avenue and back onto Langley Park.

Haven’t registered? Don’t worry you can still come along and display your car on the day for as long as you like.

Enter off Terrace Road, opposite Bennett St, there is a small charge of $10 (cash only), and you will be directed where to park up and you can leave when you wish.

There is a fee for this event of $10 per vehicle (cash only) payable on arrival.

This event is for participants who have not registered in advance and wish to turn up on the day for a short time and display their cars.

This category of registration isn’t eligible for cruising events, vehicles.

Fantastic Family Event – Free to Attend!

Join us for a celebration of racing, rallying, off-roading, motocross, drifting, x-trial, motorcycles, karts, soap box, radio-controlled car and classic & modern cars. Then there is a huge display of Hot Rods and Street Machines with mini “cruises” on Langley Park and at Midday they will go through the City and return to Langley Park If appreciating a beautiful classic is more your thing, then come along to the Classics on the Swan and join our display of classics and vehicles of interest.With the backdrop of the

Information for Individuals

Individual exhibitors

Individuals with a passion for motorsport and a pride and joy to show off, can register as an individual exhibitor in one of the three Celebration of Motorsport events: Celebration of Motorsport; Celebration of Street Machines and Hot Rods; and Classics on the Swan.

Categories:

The categories an individual can register their vehicle under are:

  • Motorsport;
  • Hot Rods & Street Machines; and
  • Classics.

Costs:

  • This event is free for individual exhibitors and spectators to attend.
  • This year we will have a new Modified Street Cars Come & Go section for those who wish to turn up for a short time and display their cars – the fee will be $10 on arrival (cash only).

How to register:

  • Complete the form at the bottom of this page to register.
  • Once your registration form has been received in our system, you will receive an automated confirmation that we’ve got it.
  • Closer to the time, you will get an email from us with details of where your display location will be and how to access the area.
  • If you don’t get a confirmation email, first check your junk or spam folders and then contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.

Club exhibitions

Car clubs, motorbike clubs or any clubs associated with motorsport or vehicles can register for a club exhibition or display, in one of the three Celebration of Motorsport events: Celebration of Motorsport; Celebration of Street Machines and Hot Rods; and Classics on the Swan.

Categories:

The categories an individual can register their vehicle under are:

  • Motorsport;
  • Hot Rods & Street Machines; and
  • Classics.

Costs:

  • This event is free for club exhibitors and spectators to attend.

How to register:

  • Complete the form at the bottom of this page to register which includes an estimate number of vehicles to be displayed and the size of the space you will need.
  • Once your registration form has been received in our system, you will receive an automated confirmation that we’ve got it.
  • Closer to the time, you will get an email from us with details of where your display location will be and how to access the area.
  • If you don’t get a confirmation email, first check your junk or spam folders and then contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.

Information for Exhibitors

Business exhibitors

If you have a business that is associated with motorsport, hot rods, street machines, classics or motoring in general, you are welcome to have a display on Langley Park as part of the Celebration of Motorsport.

Costs:

  • This event is free for businesses to attend if you are promoting your products and services to Perth’s motorsport and motoring community.
  • If you have a product that you are selling on the day, there is a small fee, similar to that charged to the food vans.
  • If you are interested in becoming an event sponsor or supporter of Tarmac Events WA, check the box on the form and we will get in touch with you.

How to register:

  • Complete the form at the bottom of this page.
  • Once your registration form has been received in our system, you will receive an automated confirmation that we’ve got it.
  • Closer to the time, you will get an email from us with details of how to pay for your exhibit (if you’re selling products on the day), where your display location will be and how to access the area.
  • If you don’t get a confirmation email, first check your junk or spam folders and then contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.

  • We will reserve a bay for all businesses and exhibitors, if you wish to be alongside any other displays, please let us know.

  • There is NO PARKING on Langley Park for public cars, this is against State Car Park Legislation and the City of Perth Rangers are required to fine illegal parking.
