2024 PERTH CITY SPRINT

Information for Spectators

Sun 15th September 2024

The Engine Shop Perth City Sprint is a speed event that runs on Riverside Drive and goes twice through the Terrace Road car park.

At the same time as the Perth City Sprint is taking place, three other Tarmac West events will be taking place in the same area.

No matter what you’re interested in, you’ll find motorsport action to interest you, all day long.

About the Perth City Sprint

Perth City Sprint is a speed event. The difference between a speed event and a rally event is that a speed event is for drivers only. The cars you’ll see in speed events are different to the ones you’ll see in the rally events like Tarmac West, because we only allow open, top cars.

The field is restricted to 50 cars. They will do a sighting run early in the morning, and then start competing at 9.30am.

Each driver will get 4 runs, with the winners being calculated on the fastest run, whereas rallies and rallysprints are calculated on the accumulated time of each stage or runs.

The Engine Shop Perth City Sprint will finish around midday, this will be followed by a cruise from the Hot Rods and Street Machines, as they head off through the City.

After the cruise, Tarmac West competitors will be arriving from Malaga and will do their own sighting run, before competing with 3 runs of the stage, followed by the Champagne Finish on Riverside Drive

There is NO PUBLIC PARKING on Langley Park, so we suggest parking at the Perth Concert Hall or if it’s easier, catching a train into the Elizabeth Quay Station.

Get to the see the action up close and play a vital role

We need officials for a number of roles including:

  • Spectator Marshal & Road Closure Officials
A super important role. Keep the roads and walk trails closed to ensure no one wanders onto the competition course, keep everyone safe – take advantage of front-row seat spectating locations. Set up an area as instructed, keep spectators safe, answer questions.
  • Parking Marshal
On Langley Park, get the cars parked in the correct spot and ensure the public don’t come into park in the same area.
  • Set Up Crews
Before the events can start, the Set Up Crews put in place the barriers and tape off through the Car Park then when it is over, pull them it all down and bring them back where they belong.
