Welcome to Tarmac South West 2024

We are excited to be coming back to Pemberton for thrilling rally action.

Friday

On Friday the drivers do a Shakedown of their cars to get them ready for the weekend. We do this from the Pemberton Sports Club, up Pump Hill Road and Stop at Stirling Road. They pay an extra fee to do this and 100% of the money collected will go to the Pemberton Mill Hall committee.

Spectating is possible on the corner of Club Rd & Pump Hill Rd

Saturday

The are a number of great spots to see the cars in action.

Service Park – To get up close to the cars and speak to the crews they will be coming and going from the Pemberton Sports Club all morning.

Golf Club – The first spectator point is on the golf club corner, Golf Links Rd and Mullineaux Rd. The cars go out and back to Big Brook Dam on two occasions.

Pump Hill Rd – Same location as Friday, on the corner of Club Rd and Pump Hill Rd. They go up the hill twice and then rally down the hill twice.

Pemberton Town – If the cars go past your front door, watch from the verandah. Otherwise walk up from the main street along Dean Street or Ellis Street.

Food and Beverages – Pemberton has some great cafes, please support them while in town.

2024 TARMAC SOUTH WEST

Information for Competitors

Tarmac South West is returning to a full one-day rally. The stages are the same as last years Rallysprint, but this year it will be run as a rally.

The change to course is the stages on Gloucester Road, Bridge & Warren Rd, have been extended on each end. And the town stage will run in the same direction 4-times, rather than us trying to reverse it after 2 runs.

If you can get down to Pemberton on Friday afternoon, make sure you do the Shakedown to get yourself tuned into competing on open roads.

Our Presentation Dinner will be moving to the Pemberton Mill Hall, this on the main road just past the railway crossing. The Hall has been restored with a new kitchen, screen and projector but still has the charm of the early 1920’s when it was built.

Our Charity Money from the Friday Shakedown will go the Mill Hall Committee which is a voluntary organisation.

Don’t forget to support the local cafes, restaurants and the pub while in town.

Information for Officials

Volunteers are the lifeblood of all community events, and motorsport and the Tarmac South West is no different. Volunteers take great pride and passion in assisting events like the Tarmac South West and love to see it run successfully.

Join Tarmac South West

Each year Tarmac South West needs a small group of officials to make the event run smoothly and to keep everyone safe. Registrations are open now for the 2024 event below.

Officials get to the see the action up close and play a vital role.

We need Officials for roles including:

Road Closure Officials
A super important role. Keep the roads and walk trails closed to ensure no one wanders onto the competition course, keep everyone safe – great spectating.

Timing Officials
Get cars into right order, line them up at the start line and release at intervals as directed – see cars up very close.

Spectator Marshal
Similar to road closures but spectators will come to view from the area. Set up an area as instructed, keep spectators safe, answer questions, hand out information – cool viewing positions.

Parking Marshal
Assist at Service Parks to get the cars parked in the correct spot and ensure the public don’t come into park in the same area.

Set Up Crews
Before the events can start, the Set Up Crews put in place the barriers, signs, arrows and tape off all the roads and tracks. Then when it is over, pull them all down and brin them back where they belong.

Scrutineers
If you enjoy cars and the mechanical aspect of motorsport, then we are always looking for volunteers to help the scrutineers.

To join the team at the Tarmac South West, register on our Online System HERE or email admin@tarmacevents.com.au or call 0418950022.
