2025 Tarmac West Entries Now Open
Entries open on 2 June 2025 for the four-day Lance East Exotics Tarmac West rally that will be held in Perth and surrounds from 18 to 21 September.
Going from strength to strength, Tarmac West is delighted to announce a two-year partnership extension with Lance East Exotics, a luxury car dealer in Perth.
Rally drivers will race the clock along about 250 kilometres of closed roads that will include long flowing stages where drivers can really open up their machines and find their rhythm, and tight technical stages that require deft driving.
Chris Reindler, Associate Director of Lance East Exotics said he is proud to continue supporting Tarmac Events, one of the most accessible and community-driven forms of motorsport in Australia.
“In addition to the seasoned pros, these events give everyday enthusiasts the chance to experience motorsport at ground level, often providing their first real up-close interaction with the sport,” Reindler said.
“They become a focal point of excitement and preparation throughout the year, turning spectators into active participants.
“Enthusiasts dedicate countless hours building, preparing, and dreaming about their cars – creating goals to strive toward, experiences to share, and achievements to celebrate alongside like-minded individuals.
“We’re thrilled to be part of something that brings so much energy, connection, and anticipation to our community every year.”
Lance East Exotics Tarmac West is open to rally cars and has a category for standard road cars for those who like spirited driving.
Introduced in 2024, Tarmac West’s Time Speed Distance, or TSD, category is for standard cars with drivers and co-drivers requiring a helmet and an Australian Auto-Sport Alliance (AASA) General Speed License.
TSD competitors are required to complete each stage as close to possible to the time allowed and penalised for an early finish more so than finishing late.
Lance East Exotics Tarmac West stages will be held in Whiteman Park, Ellenbrook, Parkerville, Kalamunda, Toodyay, Maryville Downs, Bullsbrook, Malaga and in the heart of Perth’s CBD.
Tarmac Events WA Director Ross Tapper said there is strong support for rally competitions in Western Australia.
“We’ve just seen international competitors travel to WA for a gravel rally event Forest Rally, and we are seeing good interest for Tarmac West’s rally on sealed roads,” Mr Tapper said.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Lance East Exotics, their support and those of all our sponsors are crucial for us to be able to run events.”

Information for Officials
After a 2-year pause, Lance East Exotic Tarmac West came back for 2024, with a new sponsor, but still the same core of the event. 4-days of tarmac rallying like it always has been. 2025 will be the same.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of all community events, and motorsport and the Tarmac West is no different. Volunteers take great pride and passion in assisting events like the Tarmac West and love to see it run successfully.
Join Tarmac West
Each year Tarmac West needs a large group of officials to make the event run smoothly and to keep everyone safe. We need over 400 officials to make it possible to run Registrations are open now for the 2025 event below.
Officials get to see the action up close and play a vital role.
We need Officials for roles including:
Road Closure Officials
A super important role. Keep the roads and walk trails closed to ensure no one wanders onto the competition course, keep everyone safe – great spectating.
Timing Officials
Get cars into right order, line them up at the start line and release at intervals as directed – see cars up very close.
Spectator Marshal
Similar to road closures but spectators will come to view from the area. Set up an area as instructed, keep spectators safe, answer questions, hand out information – cool viewing positions.
Parking Marshal
Assist at Service Parks to get the cars parked in the correct spot and ensure the public don’t come into park in the same area.
Set Up Crews
Before the events can start, the Set Up Crews put in place the barriers, signs, arrows and tape off all the roads, tracks and gates. Then when it is over, pull them all down and bring them back to where they belong.
Scrutineers
If you enjoy cars and the mechanical aspect of motorsport, then we are always looking for volunteers to help the scrutineers.
To join the team at the Tarmac West, register on our Online System or email admin@tarmacevents.com.au or call 0418950022.

Tarmac West is a prestigious motorsport event featuring fully prepared rally vehicles racing on closed public roads in the Perth Metro Area and surrounds.
It showcases skilful driving through the many turns on the stages. On Thursday it will start in Forrest Place at midday then head out to Whiteman Park. On Thursday evening it goes to Ellenbrook and on Friday it heads out to Parkerville, Mundaring Weir Road and the Zig Zag with a midday break in the Kalamunda CBD. On Friday evening it returns to Forrest Place for a Show N Shine.
Saturday is our longest day, running 12 stages in Toodyay, Coondle, Lower Chittering and Bullsbrook.
On Sunday morning we run around the Malaga Industrial Area then come into the City and run on Riverside Drive and the Terrace Road Car Park.
The competitors start at 30-second intervals in order from slowest to fastest, to allow the spectators to appreciate the increase in speed as the cars go past.
Road closures will occur for approximately four hours on the day of competition. All road closures will be communicated well in advance. Notification signs will be erected on the roads and a Residents Letter will be distributed three to four weeks before the event. You can also refer to our official website for detailed schedules relating to each event.
To ensure the safety of both participants and the public, specific roads will be temporarily closed during the event to facilitate competitive racing conditions.
During the specified times, access to certain roads will be restricted. We recommend planning alternative routes or adjusting travel schedules to accommodate these closures. If you have set times you need to leave or return your premises, please let Tarmac Events WA know in advance by email or phone call.
No. Emergency services will have designated access routes and will not be impeded by the road closures. Safety is our top priority. In an emergency, we have medical teams on the stage that we will send to residents to assist until public emergency teams arrive, call 0419 045 042 or 0488 679 287.
If you have essential appointments or urgent matters, please contact the event organisers in advance. We will work to accommodate special circumstances and provide guidance on alternative routes. Please call 0419 045 042 and we will assist.
For any further inquiries or concerns, please contact our dedicated resident support hotline, 0419 045 042, or email us at admin@tarmacevents.com.au.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we work together to make all Tarmac West Rallies safe and enjoyable events for everyone involved. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
